EVS Research Fellowships
Program Overview: The Environmental Science (EVS) Fellows program is a 12-month fellowship designed to introduce undergraduate students to research. Students who participate in this program will be mentored by a faculty advisor and supported with a $1,500 stipend; research funds that can be used for field and lab work, analytical costs; and attending an academic conference. The fellowship will allow students to formulate and execute their own independent research plan on topics of their choice, which may set the stage for their senior capstone experience. The program will also afford fellows a unique opportunity to network and learn from their peers in a multidisciplinary environment that will help prepare them for future career opportunities.
Eligibility: This program will prioritize UT Austin students majoring in EVS (Geological Sciences track or track undecided, with Geological Sciences faculty mentor). Admitted freshman, sophomores, and juniors are welcome to apply. No prior research experience is necessary.
Application Process: Applicants will be required to submit a personal statement, transcript, and one letter of recommendation. Applications will be due February 15, 2022 for the first year (Spring and Fall, 2022) and April 7th annually thereafter. Students interested in applying for an AY22-23 fellowship should submit their application by March 30, 2022.
