Where in the World is GEO 660 on May 30?

Over the next few weeks, we will hear from students and faculty as they take the Department of Geological Sciences’ iconic field course, GEO 660. The last blog post is here.

June 1, 2022—Faculty member Charles Kerans sent in photos from the GEO 660 Field Camp. By June 1, the group is at White Sands which the National Park Services calls “like no place else on Earth.” This is true: the fine dunes made of gypsum create an unusual habitat for wildlife and plants.
